Tigers Control the Spartans

Tigers hosted the Michigan State Spartans for the season opener in Death Valley and escaped with a Win after a hard fought battle. Heisman Hopeful QB Nussmeier came out swinging going 18/22 for 327 yds and 2 TDs. Nussmeier spread it around to all his receivers and leaned on his start TE Taylor who led the team with 6 rec 91 yds and 1 TD. The tag team duo of Durham and Jackson on the ground combined for 198 yds and 3 TDs behind the All-American studded OLine.

The game started with an even fought battle as special teams was the focus with Tiger returner Zavion Thomas taking a kick return and punt return for TDs while Spartan returner Alante Brown took 2 kick returns to the house. The Spartans held their own in Death Valley with transfer QB Chiles slinging it around. The Tiger defense struggled early on in what became a shootout but their bend-don't-break style held on in the end with some key stops in the fourth quarter. The dynamic RB duo ended the game on the ground with a late TD to seal the deal.
