Chips Lose Again to Top 25 Opponent
Article By: Central Michigan ended their 3 games against ranked opponents without a victory after a loss to LSU in Death Valley today. Despite a close game there was not enough fire power on offense to get the job done. Marion Lukes and Myles Bailey tried their best on the ground to keep it close but the offense had multiple untimely sacks result in only scoring a single touchdown. Defensively, the Chippewas did their best and only gave up 24 points (Bert Emmanuel gave up 7 on his own with a pick 6), but the offense did not hold up their end of the bargain today to get a victory. This was a great chance for the Chips as LSU had their starting QB and RB out due to suspensions from actions with the Baton Rouge police.
Great game coach BuckNut! Hopefully the CFP voters will reward the Chips for playing such a tough schedule, although that may be hard to be seen.
Tigers Take Care of Business vs. Chips
Article By: LSU took on Central Michigan in Death Valley this past Saturday and handled the Chips with a strong defensive effort. The Tigers limited the Chips passing game to only 95 yds with elite coverage and 3 sacks off the edge. Tandem RB duo Bailey and Lukes from Central Michigan did gash the Tiger D for 180 yds, but the bend-don't-break style from LSU held strong to support their Freshman QB. Rickie Collins, in his 2nd start due to the suspension to Nussmeier, managed the game well going 17/24 for 230 yds and 1 TD to TE Mason Taylor. RB Kaleb Jackson also stepped up in the absence of star Freshman Caden Durham totaling 128 yds on the ground and 2 TDs.
LSU looks on to the always tough Liberty next week and wishes the Chips success in their conference play.
