Huskies win sloppy home game

Article By: driccio21

The Huskies spotted JMU a TD to start after throwing a pick 6 on a beautiful read by the CB on an RPO. From that point on the Huskies started to settle in and focus on running the ball and controlling the field position game. UConn was ultimately able to hit on some key 3rd downs and get TD's on the board.

A big pick 6 from cb J Wright changed the momentum for the Huskies and they were able to play with the lead the rest of the game.

Evers finished with 3 td's but also had 2 costly INT's for UConn.

JMU runs ball effectively but cant get passing game going

Dukes fall at UConn 21-34

Article By: mcx79

JMU travelled to UConn this week and the defense got them on the board to start the game with an 82 yd pick 6. The UConn offense settled the home nerves and had a nice drive to tie the game up at 7. JMU got their secon drive started, the first ended in a fumble, and while RB Pettaway had anothe rgood game it was apparent that the JMU QB is not in rhythm yet this season. He tossed what would be the first of 4 INT's and UConn would take a 14-7 lead. JMU's next drive ended with UConn getting their own pick 6 to go up 21-7. The next JMU drive would find the end zone on a nice corner route getting the Dukes within one score. The JMU defense then came up with a big stop and the Dukes got the ball back. Sadly JMU would throw another INT and the Huskies would cash in a FG just before the half. UConn took the second half kick and it was quickly 31-14. The Dukes never got close enough to threaten after that.

George Pettaway was the bright spot for JMU again rushing for 188 yards and a long TD run of 75 yards on just 18 carries. The Dukes coaching staff is going to half to get this man more touches.
