In a thrilling matchup, the New Mexico Lobos faced off against the Jacksonville State Gamecocks in a highly anticipated clash that showcased both teams' strengths and strategies. The game, held at AmFirst Stadium, drew a spirited crowd eager to support their teams.
First Half
Lobos Drive down field in an amazing 4 minute and 22 second drive and they punch it in with Andrew Henry for 1 yard rushing touchdown. The Gamecocks struggled with the Speed of Henry All game long.
Next drive it looks like Gamecocks were moving the ball fairly well and couldn't convert on 3rd down around mid field and attempted a 51 yard field goal by Garrison Rippa and he buried it from deep.
In the Second Quarter it was all Lobos, To start the second quarter Lobos go on a defining 6:56 drive and that got finished off by Eli Sanders for a 10 yard run for a Luke Drzewiecki extra point.
The lobos got the ball back fairly quick and were moving down field really good and Jacksonville defense stepped up and forced a 24 yard field goal by Luke Drzewiecki that got smashed through the uprights and hit the back of the net.
Lobos get the ball back in really good field position and jam the ball in with Eli Sanders for a 29 yard rushing TD with an extra point by Drzewiecki.
Lobos have a awesome 21 yard inception returned for a TD by Noa Pola-Gates, Drzewiecki extra point.
Gamecocks fell apart in second quarter and need to clean up there offense.
Second Half
Jacksonville starts the second half off right by running shotgun and running a couple drags across the middle and Zion Turner threw a ball deep to Michael Pettway in the seem for an 82 yard receiving TD.
Lobos get the ball back and push ball down field and push the ball in with Eli Sanders for a 3 yard rushing TD
Lobos get the ball back on another interception and get forced to a field goal from Drzewiecki for a 20 yard field goal.
The Gamecocks had one more nice drive and threw a 54 yard pass to Dallan Wright for 54 yard receiving touchdown thrown by Zion Turner.
