UGA thumps La Tech

Article By: dcane7

Georgia played host in their last OOC game to La Tech. This game went as one would expect with the Bulldogs ending with a 38-6 victory. Georgia made noise all over the field today, Both HB Trevor Etienne and Roderick Robinson II rushed for over 150 yards each on the ground, MLB Raylen Wilson grabbed a pick 6, and WR Arian Smith returned a kickoff 101 yards for a score. There were signs of life from La Tech but the moment they thought to have had something put together it would fall apart. The Dawgs D was too much coming away with 4 INTs on the day. "We go into every game playing our opponent like they are the number 1 team and we are the underdogs no matter who it is. We have to stay hungry and attack the field or we will get swallowed up. The team played well and kept the mistakes to a minimum and that is what we will need to finish this season out." said Coach Cane after the game. UGA still has Tennessee and Ga Tech left and need wins from them both if they have hopes of having a post season game.

Article By: Sgt_Lingus330

First Half Breakdown:
Georgia set the tone early in the game with a relentless offensive attack. Quarterback Carson Beck was sharp, completing 9 of 14 passes for 162 yards and 2 touchdowns. Georgia’s running game, led by Trevor Etienne (157 yards, 1 TD) and Roderick Robinson II (155 yards), churned out 307 rushing yards in the first half alone. Georgia took a commanding 28-0 lead into halftime, scoring touchdowns on both the ground and through the air.

Louisiana Tech’s offense struggled to generate any real momentum. Quarterback Evan Bullock went 14 for 27 for 190 yards, but he was picked off four times, stifling any chance of a comeback. Their rushing attack was virtually nonexistent, managing just 16 yards on the ground. Tru Edwards had a strong game through the air, hauling in 7 catches for 134 yards, but the Bulldogs were unable to capitalize on their few successful plays.

Third Quarter:
Louisiana Tech showed some signs of life in the third quarter, finally putting together a scoring drive that ended with a 1-yard rushing touchdown, cutting the deficit to 38-6. However, that would be the extent of their offense. Georgia continued to dominate both sides of the ball, shutting down Louisiana Tech’s running game and forcing a turnover on a poorly-timed interception by Bullock.

Meanwhile, Georgia kept adding to their tally, with Oscar Delp catching a 50-yard touchdown pass from Carson Beck and Arian Smith adding a touchdown of his own, resulting in a 38-6 lead after three quarters.

Fourth Quarter:
With a comfortable lead, Georgia played out the fourth quarter conservatively. They focused on running the ball and managing the clock, while the Louisiana Tech offense was unable to find any more success. Both teams went scoreless in the final 15 minutes, and the game ended with Georgia cruising to victory.
