In the Bell Helicopter/Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl, the armed forces team proved they belonged despite the 5-7 record in TCU's Stadium, defeating Rice 27-7. DiDomenico is the Player of the Game, leading the Black Knights defense in tackles with 7 total and 1 TFL, and coming away with 2 INTs. Army's defense held a normally explosive Rice offensive at bay, causing 5 INTs.
Army's rushing attack was the focal point of the offense, as Stewart had 126 yards and a TD off of 19 carries. Udoh scored the other rushing TD, which also going for 20 yards off of 6 carries.
Daily did well in the passing game, going 13/25 for 157 yards and 1 TD and 1 INT, with the INT being a throwaway after a disastrous mis-pitch by Daily the play before made it 3rd and very long. Short caught the only receiving TD, and gained 88 yards off of 5 catches.
With this bowl win, Army ends Season 30 at 6-7. This also was Coach Meep's first ever bowl win, making him 1-1 in his career in bowl games.
