Pitt looks Pitiful in Rivalry Game

Article By: footballkelly31

The Panthers traveled to Cincy to take on the Bearcats in the River City Rivalry.
The game started out great for the Panthers as a big run got them down into the red zone but the offense stahled and the kicker would miss from the left hash 23 yards out. The d would hold and force a three and out. Pitt would get to the Cincy 39 but the 56 yard kick would hit the left upright. The Bearcats would put a drive together and get a touchdown from 16 yards out to open the second quarter. 7-0.
Panthers would punt. The D would come up big and snag the pitch setting the offense up at the Cincy 27. Howver the very next play was a pick setting the bearcats up near mid field. The D would hold and force a field goal. 10-0. Pitt would look to score before half but get sacked at the Bearcat 38 forcing them to punt with 1:30 left. Cincy would convert a deep go route and than score from 39 yards out on a well timed WR screen. 17-0. Pitt would get a first down but toss another interception right before half.
3rd qtr would open with the Panther D getting thier second 3 and out. Che Nwabuko would return the punt 69 yards for a TD and get the Panthers back in the game. 17-7. The Bearcats would drive the length of the field but Donovan McMillon would step infront of the ball in the corner of the endzone and give his team some hope. The hope was quickly dashed as Holstein threw his third pick on the very next play. This one resulting in a pick six and all but sealing the game. 24-7. Pitt would get a first down but be forced to punt before getting any rythem. The D would force their third 3 and out.
4th qtr opened with Pitt driving and tossing their own pick in the end zone. Cincy would get a crossing route open and score from 81 yards out to go up 31-7. Pitt would fail to convert a 4th down from midfield and than the teams exchanged punts before kneeling the clock out.
Good Game OFC. Best of luck the rest of the season.

Cincinnati Block 1 Recap

Article By: Ofc Meep

In game 2 of the first block of the 31st Season of the NDL, Coach Meep and the Bearcats made up for an atrocious opening season performance. Here's the recap:

WEEK 1: @ LOUISVILLE
For being a rivalry game this was anything but close. The Louisville Offense could not be stopped, as their effective air raid was dicing apart the Bearcat defense. And on the other side of the ball, Searsby was throwing to the wrong Red/Black team all day, giving up one fumble and 4 INTs. Coach Kemp had an amazing gameplan and will be a force to be reckoned with.

WEEK 2: PITT
As the fans were cheering, "Eat Shit Pitt" (Sorry if I am not supposed to use profanity here) all game long, the Cincinnati offense had an easy showing in this game. Searsby went back on track, throwing for 3 TDs and only 1 INT. The Cincinnati Defense stood out and up to the challenge after the Week 1 catastrophe, causing 4 INTs including a pick-6, and only allowing Pitt to score from a punt-return TD. Great Game Coach Kelly, best of luck this season!

For Block 2, the Bearcats have another rivalry game and open up Big 12 play:
Week 3 - @ Miami of Ohio for the Battle for the Bell
Week 4 - vs Houston for the beginning of Big12 play
