Kansas Escapes with 2nd Conference win

Article By: razorback44

For the second straight week, Kansas was able to survive one last offensive onslaught to hold on to a victory. This time it was TCU who rallied back from a 13 point first half deficit who looked to tie it up or pull out the win late in the 4th quarter. However, Kansas was able to hold on to the 34-31 win over the Horned Frogs after the secured their 6th interception of the game to kneel out their second conference win of the year.

Turnovers were the key to this game as Kansas was actually unable to slow down the TCU offense around those miscues. When they were clicking, TCU scored fast and often. However, they were just off enough that the Jayhawks were able to keep pushing the lead forward thanks to the turnovers. Without those, Kansas most likely would have been toast and walking away wondering what happened.

The Jayhawks offense finally got somewhat on track this week despite all the early struggles up to this point. At times, the unit moved efficiently burning clock and churning yards. The game plan coming in to this one was to try and limit TCU's scoring opportunities to as few as possible. They'd seen the quick strike offense in previous games and knew it would be difficult to slow down. QB Jalon Daniels hit numerous big completions to keep drives alive and threw four touchdowns along the way too. It was by far and away his best outing on the year.

Kansas moves to 2-0 in conference and 2-2 overall. Next up is a trip to Tempe, AZ to take on the Arizona Sun Devils.
