CMU Bests Ohio
Article By: Coach AUtiger730's return to Mount Pleasant didn't go as he'd hoped. Ohio just didn't have enough plays in them to hold off CMU tonight. Ohio's offensive stars did all they could do to pull off an upset, but 5 turnovers from Bobcat QB Parker Navarro kept the Chips in the game and ultimately gave them the win. The Bobcats jumped out to a 21-0 lead mostly on the legs and hands of Anthony Tyus III. Tyus had a hell of a game with 109 yards rushing and 117 yards receiving and 2 TDs. But late in the second quarter the turnover bug bit. The chips capitalized and scored a TD. A quick three and out by the Bobcats, and the Chips were able to drive to cut the score to 21-14 at half. CMU outscored Ohio 28-7 in the 3rd to take a 42-28 lead into the 4th. Ohio cut the lead to 42-35 on 5 yard TD to Coleman Owen, who had 8 catches for 109 yards and 2 TDs. Two plays later the Bobcats tied the game on a fumble return for a TD. CMU broke a 55 yard run on 3rd and 3 to take the ball down inside the 15. They would score 2 plays later for a 49-42 lead. Ohio drove the ball down inside the 5 yard line, but Navarro fumbled for the second time on a QB draw. The Ohio defense would stand tall and give the Bobcats one more shot with 1:03 on the clock, but Navarro threw an ill-advised pass into double coverage and the Chips picked it to seal the game.
