The Falcons came into the game Sunday mornings game on a high. Air Force was setting at 2-3 with an impressive when over the Naval Acadamy the week before. Things started great for TUSAFA as Cade Harris took a pitch early in the game and raced down the sideline for an easy Falcon score and a 7-0 lead. The defense played well the first series and got the ball back....once again the Falcons moved the ball with ease adding another FG. Then the Lobos option game picked up and there was gaping holes for their backs. Coach Ank just said we didn't tackle and play assignment football and the Bo's took advantage of it. The 2 teams would battle into the 4th with the score 14-13 NMSU. Air Force would add an FG to go up 16-14 before the Lobos would take the lead 22-16 on a long run by their back AF would be forced to go for it on 4th from their own 31 and just come up short. The Lobos would add another late score to seal the deal 28-16
Cade Harris would go over 100 yards again for the 4th straight contest
New Mexico came in with a must win mentality today against the Air Force Academy and was able to methodically turn it into a big MWC win for the Lobos. Dampier was very efficient in the backfield not turning it over once. The run and pass game was equal in yardage and the Lobos just wore down the Falcons. A slow start has become the norm but a flurry of points in the fourth quarter sealed the deal along with only 2 FGs allowed by the D in the second half.
