Jayhawks Capitalize on Turnovers

Article By: razorback44

Kansas notched its third straight win of the season behind a flurry of first half interceptions that tilted the momentum strongly in the Jayhawks favor and allowed them to hold off the high flying Cougars the rest of the way.

The Jayhawks all-Big 12 CB tandem was a sight to behold in the first half as they snagged 3 interceptions between them and ran two interceptions back for touchdowns. This allowed the Kansas offense to have some much needed room to work as they were finally able to play without forcing plays and producing turnovers themselves.

Kansas leaned on star RB Devin Neal had his best game of the season by far notching over 140 yards on the ground in the win. He also got his first rushing TD of the season early in the first half after being shut out from the endzone in their first four games. Kansas will need to capitalize on that momentum going forward as wins will continue to be tough if Neal is a non-factor on the ground.

Next up is the matchup of the season as we officially move in to the Sunflower Showdown week and a battle against Kansas State. The Jayhawks will be heavy underdogs in this one but hope to keep making some noise as they progress in to Big 12 play.
