If the UNLV football team wants to prove that it truly is a different group than the past few games earlier this season, they let one fourth quarter collapse snowball into several, here's its golden opportunity.
In actuality, the 14-17 defeat the Rebels suffered at the hands of Oregon State on Saturday morning at Beaver Stadium may have been more devastating than anything UNLV has endured so far this season.
"There's no excuses," senior defensive end/linebacker Anthony Doyle Jr. said. "We lost the game, and the sad thing is that we know how capable we were of winning that game! We know how far we've come. All I can say is they smacked us this morning, and it was a tough loss.
"Not taking anything away from them, they're a good team, but we kind of shot ourselves in the foot a lot."
The Rebels shot themselves extensively over the course of the morning.
But none of the miscues and turnovers will prove to be more memorable than the two interceptions thrown by QB Cameron Friels. RB Ja'den Thomas ran on 24 attempts for 96 yards and found it tough sledding to gain any yards throughout the morning. Head Coach Untouchable took advantage and manhandled the Rebels after those two turnovers. Great game Head Coach Untouchable! Good luck for the rest of the season! Nice win! UNLV could not get anything going, and Head Coach Black Rain may be shown his walking papers soon.
