The North Carolina Tar Heels put together a dominant performance on both sides of the ball, crushing the Boston College Eagles 35-0. The Tar Heel defense was the story of the night, forcing five interceptions and completely shutting down BC’s offense.
Power Echols Leads Defensive Onslaught
Linebacker Power Echols was a force in the middle, racking up 13 tackles and snagging an interception to set the tone for the Tar Heels. His physicality and ability to read plays made life miserable for Boston College’s offense.
Secondary Steals the Show
UNC’s defensive backs turned the game into a nightmare for BC’s quarterbacks. Alijah Huzzie and Antavious Lane each recorded two interceptions, making big plays in coverage and stifling any hope of a passing attack. Their ball-hawking efforts put UNC’s offense in prime scoring positions all night.
Offense Does Its Job
While the defense dominated, the Tar Heels’ offense played complementary football. Omarion Hampton had 101 yards rushing and 3 Tds as the unit capitalized on short fields, scoring efficiently to build an insurmountable lead. The rushing attack pounded away, while the passing game made key plays when needed.
