A and M deserves this win!

Penn State falls hard to A and M

Article By: the_niddler

Penn State came out in this one ready to play!

The defense was doing good, they stopped A and M on their first possession. On 3rd and 4, our blitz got to their QB and forced them to punt.
Our offense went right down and scored on a 3 yard rush by HB Singleton and we took a 7-0 lead and things looked to be off to a good start.

A and M answered though with a very nice drive of their own to tie the game 7-7.

We were driving when we converted on a 3rd and 10 from our own 25.
Allar threw to a position on the field where a WR should have been, but our own WRs got hung up on each other and picked each other and A and M returned it for a pick 6 to take a 14-7 lead with 6 minutes left in the half.

Our next drive, Allar throws another INT as he attempts a deep ball and A and M takes over on their own 17.
Our defense holds A and M to a FG with :34 left in the half.
We take the ball and with 1 snap, HB Singleton rumbles for 75 yards for a TD.

The score at the half is Penn State 14 - A and M 17.

The second half:
There would be 3 more INTs in the second half and a fumble.
The first drive for us is where we call a designed QB keeper and Allar fumbles the ball and A and M recovers and this is where it all went to hell!

On the drive after the fumble, our defense held A and M to another FG. Score Penn State 14 - A and M 20.
Our defense was doing what it could to keep us in this game, but Allar made sure we were not in this one.
The ensuing drive, he throws another INT.
Again, our defense holds A and M to a Field Goal. They really were doing their best to keep us in this game.
Score Penn State 14 - A and M 23.

Our next drive, Allar was so sporadic. He would make a great pass to our TE with 1:44 left in the 3rd, then 2 plays later, he completely overthrows that same TE.
4th and 2 on this drive, we go for it, WR WIDE open and Allar throws it to his feet. Turnover on downs.

4th quarter comes and my feed cut off. No clue why, but at the beginning of the 4th, it died.
I use OBS on my computer and it closed, so I am not sure what happened, but the first 3 quarters are there.

Aggies Win Marred by Controversy

Debbie Downer Returns: Texas A&M's "Victory" Marred by Controversy
By Debbie Downer, Special to the NDL Press

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Season 31 is here, and wouldn’t you know it, Texas A&M started things off with a "win." The Aggies toppled #15 Penn State, 33-14, in front of an electrified home crowd. But before you Aggie fans start planning your trip to the CFP, let’s take a moment to remember what’s been said about pyrrhic victories—sometimes a win reveals more problems than it solves.

A Defense Worth Its Weight in Gold
The Aggies' defense was nothing short of spectacular, forcing six turnovers, including five interceptions from Penn State QB Drew Allar, two of which went straight to the end zone. Bravion Rodgers and Will Lee III turned errant Allar passes into touchdowns, effectively outscoring the A&M offense on their own. But let’s not pretend this was some impenetrable wall of dominance. Sure, they shut out the Nittany Lions in the second half, but let’s not overlook Nicholas Singleton’s electrifying 75-yard touchdown run that made the Aggies’ front seven look like they were stuck in quicksand.

Offense: Same Old Story
Then there’s the offense. Oh, Coach Gonzales, what are we going to do about this offense? Marcel Reed’s stat line—14 of 17 for 160 yards and one touchdown—looks efficient enough until you realize the Aggies managed only 229 yards of total offense. Randy Bond might as well be the team MVP already, going 4-for-4 on field goals and accounting for almost half of the team's points. When your kicker is your most reliable offensive weapon, you’ve got problems.

Coach Gonzales better figure it out fast because even the 12th Man can’t carry this team to victory if the offense continues to sputter like a car running on fumes.

“Tampergate” Takes Center Stage
Instead of celebrating the defense’s heroics or debating how to fix the offense, postgame talk quickly turned to the elephant in the room: allegations that the Aggie boosters offered Drew Allar an NIL deal to tank this game. Yes, folks, that’s where we are. Coach Berokoff’s accusations from the offseason seem to have grown legs and walked straight into College Station, leaving Gonzales red-faced and livid in the postgame presser.

You’ve got to be f...ing kidding me,” Gonzales fumed when asked about the rumors. “Really, this is the conversation we’re going to have after a win like that? Y’all can f... off.” He stormed off, muttering something about “Mark” that sounded more like a promise than a complaint.

It’s almost poetic, isn’t it? A coach who barely held onto his job over the offseason finds himself embroiled in scandal right after securing a big win. If this is how Gonzales intends to fight for his reputation, he’s got a long season ahead.

What’s Next?
For now, the Aggies are 1-0, but don’t let that fool you. The questions about Gonzales’ future haven’t disappeared; if anything, they’ve multiplied. Can the defense continue to bail out an anemic offense? Will the Aggies finally find a way to score touchdowns without needing the other team’s quarterback to throw them the ball? And how many more times will Gonzales blow up at reporters before the Aggie brass decides it’s time for a change?

So, Aggie fans, savor this win—if you can. The 12th Man roared, the defense delivered, and the scoreboard looked pretty. But beneath the surface, the cracks in this program are widening, and it’s only a matter of time before they give way.

Final Thoughts
A win is a win, sure, but it feels like this one came with more questions than answers. And as for Gonzales? Let’s just say it’s going to be a long season, one press conference tantrum at a time.

Final Score: Texas A&M 33, #15 Penn State 14
