When It Rains, It Pours Interceptions

Article By: razorback44

The seat got turned up to scorching as new Kansas coach fell to 0-4 with the Jayhawks in what has turned into a ugly year extremely fast for the defending champs. The Kansas fans weren't expecting to maintain the level off success that they had under future Hall of Game Coach Jiggy but they did expect competitiveness and more wins than losses.

Nothing has gone right so far though in Lawrence and that continued again this week as the visiting Tennessee Volunteers used a smothering defense to rattle star Kansas QB Jalon Daniels in to throwing 4 first half interceptions. Tennesse took two of those back for touchdowns and never looked back after racing out to a 35-3 lead at halftime.

The Vols used the second half to test out new plays and defensive looks as they prepared for the gauntlet of the SEC that is about to begin. Kansas used it to try and stop turning the ball over and focus on moving the right way down the field.

The Jayhawks are through the gauntlet of their OOC scheduling now and move into conference play next against West Virigina. Kansas travels to Morgantown to face off against an also winless team in the Mountaineers so someone will walk away from that game with good feelings and hope heading into the rest of the year. Kansas will get back to the drawing board in the morning with the expectation that it will be them securing their first win under their new coach and beginning their march to the First Responder Bowl.
