The second quarter saw a flurry of scoring, with Fresno State's Jalen Moss hauling in two long touchdown passes from Mikey Keene, one for 48 yards and another for 61 yards. UMass responded with a 6-yard touchdown run by CJ Hester and an 18-yard touchdown run by Phommachanh, with Lurie adding the extra points for both scores. Fresno State added another touchdown before the half, with Jake Boust catching a 6-yard pass from Keene.
In the third quarter, Fresno State extended its lead with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Keene to Mac Delena. The Bulldogs added to their lead in the fourth quarter with a 27-yard field goal by Dylan Lynch.
UMass refused to give up, scoring a late touchdown on a 3-yard run by Jalen John, followed by a successful 2-point conversion. After an unsuccessful onside kick, Fresno State held on for a 31-29 victory.
The game saw both teams put up impressive offensive numbers, with Fresno State totaling 395 yards and UMass accumulating 367 yards. Fresno States Mikey Keene had a standout performance, throwing four touchdown passes, while UMass Taisun Phommachanh had a notable game with a touchdown pass and a touchdown run.
