Things did not start out well for the Rams as Bama raced out to a 14-0 lead. Bama had the ball and were looking to close server early. but the Rams secondary said "F that" and picked the ball. A TD cut the lead to seven and seemed to spark the Rams from that point on. Coach TStep "the pick gave us new life - we felt we really had a shot to pull off the biggest upset in the history of college football."
The game turned into a war after this. The Rams cut into the first half lead at 21-17 with under a minute left in the half. Bama had a great drive and scored with under 10 seconds left to make it 28-17 at the break. CSU lost a little wind in their sail but getting the ball at the break proved vital. The Rams used a 10 play 75 yard drive to cut the lead to 28-24. entering the fourth. The Rams would strike first in the fourth to take their first lead at 31-28 but Bama would answer in kind. The Rams would score last and take the lead and final score of 38-35.
Sound the alarms!!! Coach Keg is already on the hot seat, especially after his trailer was burned down by fans after losing the home opener to CSU 38-35.
Bama started off strong with back to back 82 yard runs by Jam Miller. Then the momentum would swing after a Milroe interception, leading CSU to their first td in the 2nd qtr and cutting the lead to 7.
Bama would control the rest of the first half by going into the locker room up 28-17
CSU turned the tide to start the second and took the opening drive down the field 75 yards and scored, making it look easy. This is when Coach Keg felt the shift in the wind.
Milroe threw his second pick of the game and Bama missed on two fg attempts and couldn't hold off the CSU 2nd half momentum, falling 38-35.
Tough start to a promising season for Coach Keg. Now just gotta get used to living out of the RV until seasons end when Bama chases him out of town.
