UMass falls 49-17 on the road against Coastal Carolina to fall to 2-2.
UMass jumped out to a quick 7-0 lead on a quick 75 yd TD pass from Taisun Phommachanh to Jakobie Keeney-James on the second play of the game. However, it was all downhill from there.
Coastal QB Ethan Vasko went 20/23 for 305 yds and 3 TDs with no interceptions. UMass struggled to get stops vs the Coastal offense. CC was 4/5 on the only third downs they had and rolled up 414 yards of offense against the Minutemen. UMass also lost the turnover battle 3 to 0, with 1 fumble and 2 picks. One interception was returned 55 yds for a TD by Coastal Carolina DB Matthew McDoom.
