In a battle between two teams that have been struggling to put up points the Midshipmen gave up a long drive to the Mountaineers as they would score from 3 yards out. Navy would call a pass on 3rd and 5 and see that the outside WR got behind the coverage, so they thought they'd take a shot and it would pay off as Nathan Kent would bring in the 76 pass to take it to the house and tie the game up. That would be the only scoring in the first half.
The second half would see App State connect from long out, this time from 60 yards out. The Navy Midshipmen would then force some turnovers, but squander the great field position and the score would stay 14-7. The Midshipmen would make a huge interception and this would have disastrous outcomes for them as Navy would pick it off, run it back inside the 15 and milk clock and eventually tie the game up with 1:10 left in the game 14-14. App State would run a little bit then App State attempted to throw the ball, this resulted in another interception, this one coming at midfield. The Navy offense would bleed the clock, pick up some key yards and center the ball in the middle of the field for their kicker. Nathan Kirkwood has had his moments this season, but tonight he was calm and booted a 36 yard FG for the win!
GG Holmey, appreciate it man! Sorry it took so long to get in!
