The Charlotte OL and DL played their hearts out. Alabama only had 127 yards of offense, and 3 points off non turnovers.
Instead of going to OT with a 3-3 score line, Alabama was given a fumble return to the 5, setting up a hard fought TD in the first half. And in the 2nd half, 3 pick sixes helped to ensure the win.
At the half, the score was 10-3 for the Crimson Tide.
After holding Alabama to a punt to start the 2nd half, hope was high for the 49ers fans.
Then 2 pick sixes in the 3rd quarter put the game into 'needing a miracle' status. Instead, a 3rd pick six in the 4th quarter was in the benefit of the team that didn't need it for a miracle.
Bama's offense had a pretty easy go of it against Charlotte as the Bama Defense would score on 3 interceptions. Sabb, Jackson and Moore all took their interceptions to the house.
Offensively Bama got one rushing td from Jam Miller.
Charlotte's defense was quite stingy holding the Bama olffense in check most of the game. But with the defense going wild the offense went conservative to not turn the ball over.
Bama comes away with a 31-3 victory over a well coached Leon style of football.
