Kennesaw State took control in the second quarter but could never fully pull away in a 17-10 win.
After a 17 point first half it seemed as though the Owls might run away with the game but halftime adjustments from ULM kept Kennesaw State scoreless in the second half. But the Owls run game was enough to keep the clock moving and not allow a turnover prone ULM to get much going.
The defense was stout forcing 4 turnovers but the offense struggled and stalled despite 333 total yards.
The offense was led by Michael Benefield who had 18 carries for 156 yards and 2 touchdowns.
On the defensive side Chris Townsel had two interceptions to go with his team high 11 tackles.
