Georgia Tech Upsets #17 Florida State

In a thrilling college football matchup, the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets pulled off a stunning upset against the #17 ranked Florida State Seminoles, winning 29-28 in a hard-fought contest. The game was filled with momentum shifts, standout performances, and last-minute heroics that kept fans on the edge of their seats.

Scoring Summary:

The scoring opened with a 46-yard field goal from Georgia Techs Aidan Birr after an FSU interception, early in the first quarter, giving the Yellow Jackets a 3-0 lead. Florida State responded in the second quarter with an impressive 17-yard touchdown run from Jaylin Lucas, followed by a 30-yard touchdown pass from DJ Uiagalelei to Jalen Brown, putting the Seminoles ahead 14-3. Georgia Tech didnt back down, as Birr added another field goal from 40 yards in the closing seconds of the half, closing the gap to 14-6 at halftime.

The second half saw the Yellow Jackets come alive, as quarterback Haynes King scored on a 1-yard run, followed by a successful 2-point conversion pass to Avery Boyd, bringing the score to 14-14. Florida State answered back with another touchdown pass from Uiagalelei, this time to Malik Benson for 34 yards, reestablishing a 21-14 lead.

In the fourth quarter, Georgia Tech battled back with a 1-yard touchdown run from Josh Beetham, followed by Birrs extra point, making it 21-21. Florida State’s Roydell Williams responded with a 1-yard run of his own, taking the score to 28-21. However, Georgia Techs Jamal Haynes showcased his speed with a spectacular 36-yard touchdown run on 4th and 4 with 16 seconds left in the game. There was no decision to make for Coach UF as he quickly sent in the 2pt play. Haynes King once again connected with Avery Boyd for the 2-point conversion, clinching a 29-28 lead.

In the waning moments, Florida State attempted to drive down the field for a potential game-winning score but ultimately another DJ Uiagalelei interception handed Georgia Tech an impressive road victory.
