Postgame Recap from Coach Allen – West Virginia 56, Pitt 52
What. A. Game.
Proud doesn’t even begin to describe what I feel after this one. Our guys battled from start to finish in a wild 56-52 victory over Pitt. It was a game full of momentum swings, and when it mattered most, we responded like Mountaineers.
G. Greene had one of the most incredible performances I’ve ever seen — 30 completions for 605 yards and 5 touchdowns. He kept us alive with big throw after big throw and never lost confidence, even after two picks. That 222.1 passer rating says it all.
We finished with 683 yards of total offense, including 78 tough yards on the ground. Our receivers stepped up huge, and the O-line gave Greene the protection he needed to push the ball downfield.
Down going into the fourth, our guys didn’t blink. We dropped 21 points in the final quarter to seal the win — pure heart, grit, and belief in each other.
We’ve got things to clean up — especially on defense and 3rd down — but today we showed what Mountaineer football is all about: resilience, fire, and finishing the fight.
Final Score:
West Virginia 56
Pitt 52
Let’s ride this momentum into the next one. Let’s go, WVU!
