The Falcons and Cade Harris ran past Army Sunday night as Air Force played their best game of the season. Air Force brought home the Commander and Chief trophy as they was able to beat Army 31-7. The Falcons move to 4-4 on the season with a visit to Fresno next week.
The Army Black Knights fell to Air Force 31-7 on the road in Week 10, as the Falcons controlled the game with a balanced offensive attack and a strong defensive showing.
Offensive Performance:
Army showed some improvement on the ground, rushing for 187 yards on 35 attempts (5.3 yards per carry). Tyrell Robinson led the charge with 77 yards on 9 carries and scored Army’s lone touchdown on a 42-yard run. Bryson Daily added 60 yards on 16 rushes but was limited through the air, completing just 6 of 11 passes for 79 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions, finishing with a modest QB rating of 78.5. Army’s passing game was sparse, totaling only 79 yards with 6 receptions.
Air Force was efficient and explosive. Quarterback John Busha went 4 for 5 for 109 yards, throwing a 81-yard touchdown pass and posting an outstanding passer rating of 329.1. The Falcons rushed for 247 yards on 40 carries, with Cade Harris (91 yards) and Aiden Calvert (59 yards, 1 TD) leading the ground game. Air Force’s receiving corps capitalized on big plays, with Harris hauling in a 42.5-yard average including a touchdown.
Defense & Special Teams:
Army’s defense recorded 46 tackles but was unable to contain Air Force’s balanced offense, surrendering 31 points. Max DiDomenico forced a fumble, and Trey Sofia had one pass defended, but the Falcons still controlled the pace.
Air Force’s defense was stout with 57 tackles and 8 tackles for loss, including two interceptions by Camby Goff. The Falcons limited Army’s big plays and pressured the Black Knights consistently.
Special teams were mixed; Army’s Trey Gronotte converted 1 extra point, but no field goals. Army punter James Wagenseller averaged 55 yards per punt. Air Force kicker Matthew Dapore made 1 of 2 field goals and converted all 4 extra points.
