Five straight regular season losses — and this one may be the toughest yet.
Texas A&M fell to South Carolina in a crushing 1OT finish, after a failed two-point conversion attempt ended the game. The Aggies went second in the college football overtime format, needing a touchdown and conversion to extend or win. They got the touchdown. But when it came time for the two-point play, the gamble didn’t pay off.
It’s the fifth consecutive regular season loss for the Aggies and their second overtime defeat this year overall, including an earlier loss in CUP play.
Late-game heartbreak has defined this season — another contest decided in the final seconds, another chance to flip the script slipping through their fingers.
The effort was there. The win was within reach. But once again, the scoreboard told a different story.
