Army looks unstoppable

Article By: Drewwbacca

Drewwbacca hasn't done anything to earn goodwill with the administration or the fan base in Denton, and after the most recent performance at Army, it seems a foregone conclusion that Drewwbacca will be...."taking his talents elsewhere" as it were. In a supposed impromptu post game meeting with the AD and UNT GM, Drewwbacca agreed that he would step down come seasons end as UNT head coach.

In a day where UNT showed relative balance, it seems maybe they should not have been so.. in an ironic way, Ikaika Ragsdale picked a poor day to run well and gain 117yds on 20 carries, eclipsing the century mark for the first time in 4 games. However, UNT should have passed more and taken advantage of an over matched Army secondary. Down 14 in the 4th, UNT went hurry up and quickly started putting consecutive chunk gains together. ICE with an obviously stressed D used his TO's wisely and ultimately recovered an onside kick to "ICE" the game.

Army gained 263 yds on the ground, to UNT's 299 yards of total offense.... Army's 2 halfbacks used their speed and simply beat UNT to the edge, consistently, for 4 quarters. The final result, 24-17 Army, another loss for UNT who is in the AAC basement, and the end to a very short 2 year tenure for Drewwbacca at the helm of the Mean Green.

Army gets it done on the ground

Article By: ICE

In a hard-fought matchup during Week 11 of the NDL season, Army secured a 24-17 victory over visiting North Texas, fueled by a powerful rushing attack and timely defensive stops.

Army’s offense was led by standout running back Tyrell Robinson, who rumbled for 152 yards on 9 carries and scored three touchdowns, including a long 73-yard burst that electrified the crowd. Quarterback Bryson Daily efficiently managed the game, completing 4 of 5 passes for 43 yards while also contributing 74 rushing yards. The Black Knights amassed 263 rushing yards total, wearing down the North Texas defense with sustained drives.

On the receiving end, Casey Reynolds was a steady presence with 3 catches for 30 yards, helping Army maintain control on offense.

Defensively, Army’s unit made critical plays at crucial moments, forcing two interceptions off North Texas quarterback Chandler Morris, who finished 20-for-29 with 185 yards and two touchdowns but also two costly picks. Linebackers Max DiDomenico and Chance Keith led the tackle effort, each with 10 stops, with Keith snagging one of the interceptions and contributing a pass deflection.

North Texas struggled to find consistent offense despite Morris’s efforts and the solid rushing from Ikaika Ragsdale, who gained 117 yards on 20 carries. Receiver DT Sheffield was the primary target with 6 receptions for 70 yards, and Oscar Hammond chipped in with a touchdown catch.

Special teams saw Army’s Trey Gronotte connect on 3 extra points but miss a field goal attempt, while North Texas’s Kali Nguma converted a 37-yard field goal and both extra points.

Ultimately, Army’s ability to control the ground game and capitalize on defensive turnovers proved decisive in this close contest, moving the Black Knights one step closer to postseason aspirations.
