In what has been the "story of my life" during my time at UNT, Drewwbacca once again had control of a game, and a chance to close things out with a W. Yet again, Drewwbacca, regardless of the team he's leading, wilted under the pressure. End result, 28-24, ECU.
ECU jumped out to an early 14-3 lead behind a well balanced attack. Drewwbacca showed signs of life on offense, driving the ball consistently, but not finishing out drives... 2 pick 6's later and the tides had turned in UNT's favor. Holding a 24-21 lead Drewwbacca let ECU drive the length of the field and take a 28-24 lead with a shade under two minutes to go. With 1 timeout in hand, UNT mounted a valiant effort, converting on a 4th down to extend the drive and get inside ECU's 30. From there, the ECU secondary led by Revel Jr tightened up their zones and shut down UNT's last gasp.
In what ends as a 1-10 against humans and 2-10 overall, Drewwbacca, much like the 42 UNT players to hit the portal in real life, cannot wait to GTFO of Denton.....
