In a high-stakes Pac-12 showdown, the No. 10 Washington State Cougars made a powerful statement with a commanding 52-17 victory over the Oregon State Beavers, improving their record to 10-1 and keeping their Pac-12 Championship hopes very much alive.
Quarterback John Mateer delivered a near-flawless performance, completing 31 of 35 passes for 290 yards and five touchdowns, efficiently carving up the Oregon State secondary. Mateer’s primary target, tight end Cooper Mathers, had a breakout game, hauling in multiple key passes for 99 yards and two scores.
