UMass played a tough game hosting the Crimson Tide. They were however unable to stay with them in the speed category. Alabama's pursuit to the ball on defense was outstanding and their RB was lightning fast. That said UMass held a 7-0 lead briefly. The Minutemen also missed a FG that would have given them a 10-7 lead, but ultimately it was merely a matter of time. Bama took this game over and was leading 28-10 at the break behind the strong running and even stronger command of the line of scrimmage. Umass did themselves proud sustaining drives and forcing three turnovers. Two picks in the endzone and one on an underneath throw that set up a Umass FG.
