Unfortunately, the Deacons fell to the Panthers in the season opener at Pitt. They totaled all of eight minutes on offense. Needless to say, the water boy had a pretty relaxed weekend because he never had to worry about getting it for the offense. Coach says his boys will run until he gets tired once they make it back to North Carolina. A piss poor offensive performance led to utter domination this week. Hopefully some of the players go and try out for ballet before toe meets leather next week. See you in Virginia as the Deacons take on the Cavaliers in their week two matchup on the road.
In a tightly fought battle to open the season Pittsburgh opens with a win at home over Wake Forest. The first half was highly contested and tight scoring . Both sides exchanged touchdowns but eventually it was the defense that would come up huge right before the half with an interception that would lead to a touchdown pass from Holstein as time was expiring. Pitt Opened up the second half getting the ball and would begin to seperate from the demon deacons. Holstein led the way going 18/21 with 3 Touchdowns and 55 yards on the ground. Pittsburgh put together a complete team effort in week 1 to secure an early divisional win.
