Baylor sends Berokoff to the Bar

**SYRACUSE, NY —** In a game that started with promise but quickly unraveled, the Syracuse Orange were overwhelmed at home by the Baylor Bears, falling 41-17 in a humbling non-conference defeat.

Head Coach Mark Berokoff didn’t mince words in the postgame press conference.

>"Not super happy with the effort from the fellas today," Berokoff said bluntly. "We saw some good signs here and there, but just not nearly enough."

The main issue? The secondary.

Baylor quarterback Sawyer Robertson had a field day against the Orange defense, throwing for 376 yards and carving up the coverage with precision and confidence. Syracuse's defense, particularly the back end, struggled to keep up with Baylor’s tempo and playmaking.

Despite the lopsided scoreline, there were some silver linings for the Orange. Star tight end Oronde Gadsden once again lived up to his billing as the best tight end in the country, hauling in 8 catches for 103 yards and a touchdown. His combination of size, hands, and route-running continues to be a nightmare for opposing defenses.

On the defensive side, linebacker Marlowe Wax continued his consistent performance, leading the team with 11 tackles and flying all over the field. But his efforts weren’t enough to slow down a Baylor team that looked sharper, faster, and more prepared from the opening whistle.

Coach Berokoff, clearly frustrated but reflective, gave credit where it was due.

>"Baylor, and Coach Cnasty—who’s a good friend of mine—were amazing today," Berokoff said. "They had their way with us. We must find a way to get better."

The Orange will need to regroup quickly with ACC play around the corner. The message from Berokoff is clear: talent alone won’t cut it. The effort, focus, and execution must be there for a full 60 minutes.

For now, Syracuse is left to pick up the pieces and prepare for what comes next.

Baylor Takes Down Close Rival

Article By: Cnasty

Baylor came into the dome today and beat up on a really good friend and rival.

Baylor's D actually played at a high level for once and it showed with multiple turnovers forced and the offense did the rest. Coach Mark is known for a tenacious offense and it was stifled a bit today and coming into a raucous home crowd, we were expecting a closer matchup.

What a great time to always play Coach B and enjoy getting on the sticks with him anytime.

Nice win for Baylor but a lot more work to be done this season!
