In a game that featured five defensive touchdowns, the RoadRunners claimed four of them, including two by Safety Jimmy Wyrick, giving him an NDL-best 5 defensive touchdowns on the season.
A back-and-forth game was broken up by the Roadrunners at the end of the first half following a strip sack scoop and score by Ronald Triplette and Joe Evans, and then an immediate pick six by linebacker Kendrick Blackshire.
The Bobcats weren't done yet, though. Down 31-17 at halftime, the explosive Texas State squad fought back, forcing stops and turnovers and converting them to scores, pulling even with the rival Roadrunners.
UTSA's Brandon High snuck past the TSU defense for the go ahead score late in the 4Q, 38-31, and on the final Texas State drive, the QB once again found Jimmy Wyrick for a game-sealing INT, giving him six on the season, and moving the Roadrunners closer to bowl eligibility.
