UMass and Florida came out in a contest of two unlikely opponents. Florida took the ball first and ripped off a 54 yard TD to open the scoring UMass did get UF in a 3rd and short scenario but thats where the line of scrimmage advantage really shined for the Gators. on Umass's first drive they drove into Florida territory but stalled kicking a season their long FG from 49yds out. Sadly, UMass wouldnt score again. Florida put up 21 points in the second quarter behind a dominating running game. The second half was fiilled with UMass turnovers and just 3 points from the Gators. Florida ended up with 282 yards on the ground and nearly 3/4 of the game as time of possession. UMass may find luck in a few other contests but this one was just too much of an uphill climb for the Minutemen.
