What started out as a game in which Missouri looked comfortably ahead became anything but. Up 14-0 in the 2nd quarter, a series of events (pick 6 and a 3 and out, followed by a TD allowed by the defense) finds the Tigers and Jayhawks tied at halftime.
Missouri starts the 2nd half with a 1 play touchdown. The defense then reasserts its dominance. Both teams struggled throughout the game with turnovers (3 each). Still a competitive game in the final 5 minutes at 24-17, the Tigers finally put it away with two touchdowns and an interception by the defense.
Great job by the defense. Holding a Power 4 team to less than 200 yards in total offense is no easy task. The offense still needs to avoid those interceptions. It could be costly against better competition.
