Rutgers Bounce Back to Start 1-0 in B10

(Piscataway, New Jersey) - The Scarlet Knights fought tooth and nail on their way to consistently stay just one score ahead of the Iowa Hawkeyes in their conference play opener here the banks of the Raritan River. They triumph in the first Big 10 conference game of S33 with a 34 – 27 victory.

The Knights leaned on HB # 27 Samuel Brown V who had a breakout game rushing for 127 yards on 12 attempts. Brown rushed for 2 TDs including a 75 yard scamper in immediate response to a Iowa pick 6 on the previous Iowa drive. QB #16 Athan Kaliakmanis did his best to circumvent the Hawkeyes blanket coverage as he saw himself compete 20/28 passes. He threw for a season low of 251 yards and found more Hawkeye DBs then Rutgers endzones. He Had 2 TDs and 3 INTs.

With the Rutgers first win in Big 10 conference play out of they way, they look to build upon the goal of sitting amongst the top of the conference this year. With several ranked teams amongst them, will this generate any momentum that they can carry for the rest of the season? Next kickoff is set for this Saturday at 12:00 PM EST as the Scarlet Knights travel to the Midwest to face off versus the Minnesota Gophers.
