After a devastating opening to the NDL season in block 1 with a heartbreaking loss in the final minute to Colordao State the Miami Redhawks had the unenviable task of traveling to Marshall for game 2.

The response that coach NTX recieved from his team could not have been better. The defense and the run game showed up in ways they did not against the Rams. After trading early scores the Hawks settled in outscoring Marshall 14-3 in the 2nd quarter and 17-7 in the second half as the game finished with a 38-17 scoreline.

MLB Corban Hondru led the charge notching 10 tackles, 2 sacks, and an interception. The defense as a whole finished with 6 sacks and 3 INTs and had both Marshall QBs under pressure the entire game.

On the other side of the ball the offense was efficient and that was exactly what was asked of them. In game 1 Coach NTX felt he asked too much of the offense and pressed too much for big plays which lead to turnovers saying "I felt against CSU we put too much on the shoulders of the passing game. You can't consistently win football games if you can't run the ball. Today Dequan did exactly what we asked of him. He was efficient and explosive when it was possible but most importantly he protected the football."

QB Dequan Finn finished 16/22 for 273yds 3TD and 0 INT. His backfield mate HB Deshaun Borum ran for 114 yards and 2 TDs on 18 carries while also chipping in 3 receptions and a receiving TD. Exciting young WR Kam Perry continued his hot start with 5 catches for 150yds and 2TDs which were his 3rd and 4th TD of the season. Perry will be one of the players to watch this year from Miami.
